The cost of a TV commercial depends mainly on the complexity of the creative idea. So if you have a limited budget, choose a simple idea but make it look good!

But these other factors should be considered:

- FORMAT: A commercial shot on video will be substantially cheaper than one shot on 16mm or 35mm film. Hi-definition video offers a good compromise, as the picture quality is outstanding but there is no need for film stock or processing.

- STUDIOS: Building a large set in a large studio can easily push a TV commercial production budget into six figures. Where possible we try to use existing locations.

- POST-PRODUCTION: Some graphics/editing facilities in Soho charge £600 per hour or more, so it’s easy to run up a huge bill on making your commercial look good. Because we have our own facilities, we can keep these costs under control.

- EXISTING MATERIAL: Many companies may already have a well-produced corporate video, or access to other existing footage. This can often be re-edited to make an excellent TV commercial without the need to shoot new material.

All the commercials on our DVD showreel were produced for a budget of £15,000 or less.
